on saturday night nick and my very best friends ventured to roslindale
to share a delicious birthday feast at sophia's grotto. having come highly
recommended as one of the city's "hidden jewels," this mediterranean
restaurant is tucked cozily behind a small alleyway of adorable shops and
eateries. lit with twinkling christmas lights and warmed by the heat of the wood-
oven, this restaurant had an intimate atmosphere which was enhanced even
more by the deliciousness of the food.
it was only as i was leaving that i noticed the fading black and white photos
of beautiful actress, sophia loren scattered about and realized
where exactly the name
"sophia's grotto" originated.
