my due date came and went this saturday, 

without any sign of our baby boy's arrival--

but what did come was my push present of sorts,

a solly baby wrap that i am so excited to use,

some time really really soon,

 i hope :) :)

with parents whose teeny apartment is overrun with books,

our baby boy will have no choice but to be a little reader--

which is why he needs these literary onesies from 

out of print as soon a possible :)

♥ looks & books.

nicks new favorite tv show is louie,

and one of the episodes that we watched together

recently featured actress, parker posey, as an adorably

 quirky book store sales gal, who goes on one date 

with louis ck & makes him try on a dress in a

vintage shop. LOVE it!!!

♥ hustle & flow.

tonight, nick and i began watching american hustle (2013),

and while i knew next to nothing about the film- i was pleasantly

surprised by all of the dvf wrap dresses i recognized amy adams wearing

 throughout the film! OBSESSED!!!!

according to the costume designer, michael wilkinson,

" i love the clean lines of the wrap dress- they really exemplify the new spirit

of the clothes for american women in the late 1970's. it was a time when women

were enjoying new freedoms in fashions-less underpinnings, less structure and

bold, streamlined shapes. the natural shape of a woman's body was celebrated."

♥ 99 problems, but a button down ain't one.

while i personally cannot pull off a button down shirt

(i have a thing called "breasts")-- there is something so compelling to

me about this shirt up! editorial in the latest issue of glamour.

it must be the big statement jewelry. duh!

speaking of which-- did you know that all of the jewelry at

last summer, i ate an unprecedented number of ice cream cones

(i blame my sweet tooth on the baby!) and documented it on instagram. 

this spring, maybe i will start a little early- and get one of these

  melody eshani rings to match!

i know i've been loving on beyonce lately-

but solange is still my girl. 

her latest feature in harper's bazaar is just fab-

the middle look is obviously my favorite :)

spring is but a few days away,

and yet the arctic chill in the air has

made it hard to believe it will ever come.

while i usually live on the pleasant land of winter denial,

i cannot help but feel totally done with the freezing temperatures,

salt-covered everything and the extra layers required just to venture

outside. the only thing that makes me feel slightly optimistic are

these beautiful pictures from my friend, michael of the trendy dwarf.

these new york ladies know how to layer in a creative way-

mixing a bit of fur with a bit of glitter and a bit of color.

if you have to dress for this bullshit weather,

 you may as well make it interesting.

while i may not be irish, or fully participate in the traditions of st. patrick's day, 

i do love a bit of good luck, and the shamrock is certainly a symbol of that.

 did you know there is one four clover for every ten thousand three-leaved?
