♥ dresses for breakfasts, and dinners and balls;

dresses to sit in, and stand in, and walk in;
dresses to dance in, and flirt in, and talk in;
dresses in which to do nothing at all;
dresses for winter, spring, summer and fall–

i am not sure if i have told you this before, but i LIVE in dresses.
{if pants were obliterated from the fashion psyche, i would be sitting pretty.}

so, what better occasion for me to revel in my dress–lovingness
than the 82nd annual academy awards, where frocks
of all shapes, colors and sizes come together
for one visually delightful evening?

i have to say, my first impression of the night was that many starlets
played it too safe this year in terms of color.
opting for pastels, metallics or member of the red family,
many of the actresses looked beautiful, but with
a lack of any real color, most dresses were easily forgettable,
and maybe even a little {dare i say it?} interchangeable.

what were your thoughts on the oscar dresses?

zoe saldana in givenchy
i love this dress and i think zoe knocked it out of
the park with her bold choice! surprisingly, this dress
is one of the most colorful worn all evening.

i think that this dress has a fabulous shape,
but the color is subdued,especially for j lo.

this dress gets two snaps. it's like a breath of spring.

i think that penelope could have made a better choice for her figure,
but she is still gorgeous!

stunning choice. i read her sis is a makeup artist, well done girls!

i feel like this is too snow princess and too mature for amanda,
i would've liked to see a bit more color.

the dress is very ice skateresque, but would have stood out more
if everyone and their mother weren't wearing muted colors.

i like it, but again were the oscars a secret audition
for cinderella on ice?

dame, she looks lovely.

love the top of this dress, but the bottom looks like a bad table skirt.

this dress is gorgeous and fit extremely well,
but where is her best accessory..ashton kutcher?

i love the dress, but again.. color.. where are you?

i know she won, but that dress ain't no winner.

thank goodness for precious girls who aren't afraid of color!

...or color and print!

..or all black!

here are some dresses that i would have
loved to have seen on the red carpet tonight!!!
