this brilliant book fair kit makes me long for the old days when
the troll book club would descend upon my elementary school &
take over our little library- filling tables with piles of fresh books,
racks of bookmarks, kitty posters, and other amazing
school supplies. did you ever have anything
like that at your school, growing up?
OMG, I totally miss book fairs. I don't remember anything quite as cool as that pouch being at any of ours, though. We also had "Book It", in which you earned puffy little star stickers to put on a button/pin for each book you read. (The look of the pin: the glory of the eighties) You fill up the pin, you get free personal pizza from Pizza Hut. They could totally boost the publishing industry by offering that program again but for adults to earn cocktails...
ReplyDeletewe didn't have book sacks either- but the contents are reminiscent of my childhood! love the idea of reading contests to win drinks! such a fun incentive to read. ha!

Ahhh I loved book fairs!! They always sneakily sold toy-ish things, too, and that was what we always begged for - but our mom usually only let us pick out an actual book each. Good habits starting early. :)
ReplyDeleteThe book fairs were great! I remember that ours really did carry only books though!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how much i loved the RL Stine and Christopher Pike horror books as a kid?:P
