♥ we are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. ~ oscar wilde.

images via flickr.

like any twenty-something girls my age, i am somewhat of a facebook stalker.
so, when i spotted this ridiculously beautiful collection of black and white
photographs taken by a fellow highschool classmate of mine,
i couldn't help but ask him if out of nowhere if
i could post them on my blog!

according to eric:
"this series is basically a collection of photos that capture
some of the unique parts of the boston ara, shot from the street.
literally shot straight from the street with my camera in the gutter.
these are the parts of the city you really don't see much of in pictures
but are really the connective tissue of any city. more important to the day
to day life in the city than anything downtown."

i think what i like the most about eric's work is that these are
everyday places in boston, that one may pass by on their way to get
somewhere else, and never give a second glance- photographed from
a completely fresh perspective.

literally shedding light on the quiet, solitary side of an always-busy city,
this series serves as a reminder that beauty exists within the shadows,
where you would least expect it, if only you are willing to look
at it from a different angle.
