miss olivia is only seven weeks old, but her father is already 

snapping shots of her with food on her face. i don't know why, exactly-

but it sure makes me smile. isn't she a little beauty??

♥ giving winter the boot.

per usual, i have been giving winter the cold shoulder.

i figure- if i refuse to acknowledge the snow on the ground, freezing temperatures

and biting winds and just throw a big coat over the whole situation, maybe,

just maybe, i can maintain a sunny outlook and make it to spring time unscathed.

but just as usual, i am failing at this endeavor-- especially in the way of footwear.

most new englanders will opt for the unfashionable uggs (or in my case-fuggs),

choosing comfort over outfit coordination, but luckily for me, the lovelies

at hush puppies have saved the day (and my feet) once again.

meet the rustique ankle boot, my new best friend.

when thinsulate technology meets hush puppies style, the opportunities for
great outfitting are endless. i cannot tell you how happy my cold feet are
to be tucked into these warm boots, which easily transition from slushy
streets to retail sales floor. the heel is significant enough to give a bit
of height, but not so much that you cannot walk comfortably
for the entire day.the slouchy tweed patches help give the
 boots a lived-in look, even for someone who has only
worn them once or twice.

thanks to these new boots,
i can finally kick my fuggs to the curb-
and do it in the most stylish of manners.

how cute is gwen stefani's baby bump?

she tweeted this picture yesterday and i had to share.

stefani recently revealed that she is having yet another boy,

and though i agree with her on the desire to one day pass down the

crown to a little girl- i cannot help but enjoy the baby boy bump :)

do you think there's a difference between a boy & girl belly shape?

my ex-doctor told me that i was imagining things...

thanks to my wonderful uncle and his knack for finding me fabulous 

old films to watch, i enjoyed designing woman (1957) starring

 the lovely lauren bacall, the other day, and could not

help but drool over her entire wardrobe.

costume designer, helen rose, did an amazing job bringing bacall's

designer character to life through her clothing-- each outfit

was better than the last! if you enjoy vintage pieces as 

much as i do, you will love this movie!

let me introduce you to my new friends, angela & roi.

ok, i don't know them in real life-- but i love their bags so much

that i feel like they could be my friends. for one, their bags are made

of vegan leather. secondly, they're well priced. 

AND did i mention how fabulous they are??

 here's a few of my favorites:

lastly, they also donate $5 of every bag purchase towards a variety of causes.

each bag is finished off with a wonderful faux leather ribbon, whose color

 corresponds with one of eleven non-profit organizations, from cancer

to aids, anxiety and depression, that they work with.

on february 28th, and i think i need to see them in person!

♥ dressing the bump. part 2.

i am now 29 weeks pregnant, and the bump is on and popping :)

i am finding that i still loathe maternity wear and prefer dresses

and midi length skirts that hug the belly, rather than hide it under 

awkward layers of badly printed fabric. oversized accessories are a must. 

and as you can also tell, layering is key. i am so happy i made the

 inVESTment in this furry topper, which goes with nearly every

pregnancy outfit in the closet these days.

the 40th anniversary of dvf's legendary wrap dress

is being celebrated in high style with the opening of her
exhibition, journey of a dress, in LA this weekend.

i want to go to there.
