♥ rock n' roll.

for our teeny apartment/nursery, nick and i wanted a rocking chair, but not
one of those obnoxious gliders with all of the unnecessary padding and
matching footstools, or one of those uncomfortable granny rockers
with the spindly backs and hard wooden seats.

we wanted something a bit more modern-
something a bit more cool-- so we settled on the
  poang rocking chair from ikea.

and as you can see, we are not the first parents- to-be
to think of using this contemporary piece in a nursery setting.
love it!!!!

♥ gia turns 2.

today, my lipstick-eating niece & instagram darling, giada mei, turns two years old!
now that i know this crazy little person, it is hard to imagine what life was like
before came. sure, my $20 lipsticks didn't have bite marks in them, but
what did we really do for entertainment back then?

miss gia has so much personality and such a big heart for such a small lady-
it is incredible to see her in action.  she is almost at the point where she can
make full sentences and i simply cannot wait to hear what she has to say
and to see what the rest of two has in store for her!

happy birthday, gia!

♥ saving face.

just because winter is still rearing its ugly head,
doesn't mean you have to follow suit!

for the past few months, i have committed to a pretty simple
skin care routine that seems to be working much better than the
whole lot of nothing i was doing last year. (goodbye, carefree twenties!)

every day i clean my face with cerave foaming facial cleanser.
it's gentle, fragrance-free and removes makeup wonderfully.

my mother in law surprised me with what i like to call a "flarisonic,"
(ie. "faux clarisonic") from the brand, toilet tree- and i am happy to report
that not only does it work well, but it's also a fraction of the cost of its
pricey competitor! (and it comes with a box full of  fun attachments!)

every few days, i will also use radical skincare's age-defying exfoliating pads,
which give my face the tough love it needs and renews the glow that my
skin has been craving. not to mention, it shrinks pores down to
nothing ;)

lastly, i have decided to jump on the coconut oil train, since nick accidentally bought a
jar of un-scented  coconut oil and had no interest in using it for cooking purposes.
so far, i have tried it as an eye makeup remover, scar healer and lip gloss and
i kind of see why people love it so much. i want to try it on my hair next!

have you played around with coconut oil?
what is your skin care regimen?
