this halloween, i didn't make it to any costume parties,

but i did manage to dress up in halloween chic for work,

and using the pieces i had already in my wardrobe 

(chandelier earrings, various gold bangles, shawls, a printed

 bohemian-style dress and a handmade floral headpiece 

and heavily drawn-in eyebrows) i managed to pull off 

a modern version of mexican artist,

  frida kahlo.

and not to be outdone--

talula insisted on dressing up as well.

so here, you have it,

esther quek, fashion director of men's magazine, the rake,

wears menswear better than most men.

her powerful power-suit wearing makes me wish that

 i could pull off a suited look- but alas, my curvy figure 

is made only for dresses. 

oh well.

to reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.

new material his impression of beautiful things.

corrupt without being charming. this is a fault.

those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things

are cultivated. for these there is hope.

they are the elect to whom beautiful things 

mean only beauty.
