when i was a little girl i wanted glasses and braces more than anything.
these days, oversized glasses are everywhere- both perscription and fake.
but also, i have been noticing girls on the street wearing glasses without
any lenses at all! according to the huffington post, this is a
trend that sparked among taiwanese teens, and is now
spreading to the US. get yours here.
ps. would you ever try this trend?
oh! i remember wanting glasses a lot too! isn't that funny? though, i don't think i would wear them now if i didn't need them. but i do like oversized sunnies. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm torn on this one. I've indulged in the non-prescription glasses trend (at least, before I was stuck in the real thing), and I completely support that. No lenses means no weird distortion from lenses, no glare, better photographs… Still, it kinda feels like doing it halfway.
ReplyDeleteGlasses are super cute, even without prescription. but the no lenses thing freaks me out!

i wouldn't have to try this trend because i need glasses anyway! i wear contacts cuz i hate the way i look in glasses but i recently bought some "fashionable" lenses that have a thick brown rim. i'm still getting used to the way i look in them and trying to wear them more and giving my eyes a rest from constant contact lens wear for the past 10+ years :P
ReplyDeleteha ha probably not!
ReplyDeleterespectfully, i wouldnt try this trend :) maybe because i already wear prescription glasses lol but HEY! i'm digging your blog <3 following is a MUST <3
ReplyDeleteSo - I wear glasses and contacts and have TERRIBLE TERRIBLE vision (-9), but I really want to wear glasses out in public without looking like this - http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://thevinylvillage.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/21915.jpg&imgrefurl=http://thevinylvillage.wordpress.com/2008/09/18/vengeance-a-dish-best-served-drunk/&h=1600&w=1600&sz=350&tbnid=NwQi4y_PSplxsM:&tbnh=150&tbnw=150&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dcoke%2Bbottle%2Bglasses%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=coke+bottle+glasses&hl=en&usg=__H94xcdzvBdiNuatToPLKk_bFA_U=&sa=X&ei=DFHRTeXtDcq2tgfqvNGDDg&sqi=2&ved=0CDEQ9QEwAQ
ReplyDeleteOMG that's a long link, sorry. I have a box of contacts that is too weak now so I've contemplated buying cheap frames to wear with them so I can somewhat sport the trend, ahha!
i wanted glasses too, especially as i was a bookworm. i couldn't understand how i could read so much and have good eyes. seemed unfair. kids are weirdos. lol

You are sooo right! This trend is a total hit, EVERYWHERE!
ReplyDeleteFab post xo
As some one who wears contacts/glasses i would not try this trend at all. I hate my glasses. But I can totally see why the trend picked up - glasses can be a fun accessory.
ReplyDeleteNope, I won't be trying this trend. I don't look good in glasses, any glasses. I'm not even jealous of girls who do look good though, since I think this trend is rather silly, as trends go. (No offense meant!)
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one! I totally wanted braces and glasses too. I've since had both, and I realize now that I was a crazy child. ;)
ReplyDeleteI had glasses AND braces and I hated it so much!! The trend actually made me sad, because fake glasses are so cheap and someone with real glasses cannot possibly afford to keep up with the crazy styles! Not that I'm at all trendy anyway :p
ReplyDeleteThere are really some days that I so wish I wore glasses. I keep seeing all these adorable frames! Ah well, I guess I'll just have to survive with good vision.
ReplyDeletei knwo exactly what you mean jaja i made my mother take me to doctor when i was kid to get glasses and sure enough didn't work. i love this trend but I'm not sure if I could pull it off. could be fun, just an accessory!
