♥ good things come in small packages.

ages ago i had a closet-ful of teeny tiny purses that came in a wide range
of shapes and colors and held little more than a pack of gum and some small change.

and while my handbag collection has grown into something significantly more substantial
in terms of how much they can carry-- i must say that the idea of a mini bag is
beginning to appeal to me once again now that i am carting around a
baby and all of his accouterments.

here are a few that i am loving from shop bop:

♥ she's always buzzing just like neon.

now that summer is in full swing, it's time to break out the bright-colored
accessories and wear them unabashedly. i am loving these neon pieces from
necklush- they look like so much fun to wear and also like they would coordinate
with just about everything i have in a summer wardrobe!!

LOVE!

♥ HENRY > everything else.

today i got home from work and took an unexpected three-hour nap with this little lovebug.
and while that wasn't exactly what i had in mind as far as my evening plans were concerned--
i realized that eating dinner, working out and even taking a shower pale in comparison to
spending time with my sweet henry. i'm so in love with this boy.

♥ #facethefoliage

ralph waldo emerson once said,"the earth laughs in flowers"--
well, if that is the case, then designer/artist/blogger justina blakeney
is getting the last laugh with her instagram art project #facethefoliage

utilizing exotic flowers & leaves, blakeney has created a
bevy of blooming beauties-- each more ravishing than the last!
i love how each floral portrait is so unique, even though
many of the elements are the same!

should you find yourself in a garden with some petals and
some down time. i encourage you to join miss blakeney
and #facethefoliage together.

♥ design your life!

i don't work in the interior design world anymore-
but that doesn't mean i can't appreciate a new collection of
colorful, luxurious fabrics every now and then.

like this new collaboration between my favorite designer,
diane von furstenberg and one of the best fabric houses in the
business- kravet. don't you just want to wrap yourself
in those window treatments? LOVE!!!

♥ i'm a big fan.

i have a best friend who bravely goes each summer
without air conditioning in her apartment.
(she and her husband refer to it as "cowboy season!")

and while i am also not one for stale, recycled air
over open windows and fresh air either-
there are some humid days which just call
 for a little arctic boost!

...or in the very least a pretty fan,
like these beauties from modcloth!!

♥ perfect for summer.

so, in case you were wondering where i've been,
i must tell you that i started work again last week and didn't realize
that between time spent at my day job and my remaining waking hours
spent with my beautiful baby boy--there is absolutely little extra time to
work out/ buy groceries/ cook dinner or even think about blogging.

thankfully, i am settling into my new schedule- and i hope that
i can continue to carve out a little bit of time to spend trolling the internets
for good things to share with you-- like these AMAZING accessories
that i must get my hands on for the summer season.

can you believe summer is almost over in the retail world-
when kids are barely out of school for summer vacation yet?

♥ voice of an angel.

the hubby showed me this gorgeous cover of beyonce's halo
by seth avett (of the avett brothers) and i had to share.
his voice is heartbreaking and lovely all at once.
you're welcome :)

♥ bachelorette weekend in the country.

this past weekend we celebrated my best friend, carolyn's,
bachelorette in the rustic, rolling hills of  north conway, new hampshire.

cc's dream was to have her "last rodeo" at a dude ranch,
so the farm by the river bed & breakfast was the next best thing!

dinner, dancing, and a wagon ride were some of the highlights
of this short but sweet trip!! i definitely need to get out
of the city more often, and enjoy the beautiful gifts
of mother nature!

♥ happy blog-iversary.

today marks five years of blogging on a glimpse of glamour.

and while being committed to anything for that length of time is a
feat in and of itself, i am happy to have used this space for exploring
the many beautiful ideas, people, pieces of art, fashion designs,
kitties, etc that have crossed my path while writing.

i am lucky that i have contributed my opinions to a greater dialogue
on topics that may not be easy to digest at times--body image, race, beauty,
and the way that the media and fashion world play such an important role in
shaping how we think and how we feel about ourselves, are subjects that
are on my mind constantly, and this blog has given me a place
to exercise my voice.

in these past five years, i have gotten engaged- married- found a new career-
given birth--big milestones that i am so happy to have interwoven into this
blog. i cannot wait to see what is still out there on the horizon,
and i am so lucky to share it with you.

thank you for reading.

♥ can you ask a beautiful flower, "hey beautiful flower- can i be you for a second?"

another way to keep fashion from becoming too boring  is to
add a little spice, or in alexander wang's case--
a little mango.

the designer asked snl star, chris kattan to resurrect the
legendary mango for his newest campaign for
ready to wear brand, t by alexander wang.

mango even accompanied wang at the cfda awards,
in leather shorts, a beret, and his signature booties.
love!

♥ prints on top of prints.

i don't know if it's maternity leave or the abundance of bad/ugly trends
that are populating this summer (like the re-birth of the birkenstock--really??),
or a combination of both-- but when it comes to fashion lately,
i am totally bored.

if it weren't for designers like stella jean, i'd give up altogether
and just start wearing a potato sack, which- judging by it's ugly factor-
may just be the next big thing.
