♥ denim tuxedo.

since giving birth, my attitude towards my own style has changed quite a bit.
things that i would "never" wear like body con dresses- became my go-to
while pregnant, and now that i have lost most of the baby weight, i have been
experimenting with pants (another item i rarely wear!) and let's not
even get started on my newfound love for topknots!

it's almost fall--which definitely means it's time to break out the denim.
(did you see katy perry's britney spears-inspired denim dress at the VMAs? enough said. )
last week i paired a chambray top with a pair of joe's jeans and even though my
husband called me a "cowgirl," i kind of liked the way the outfit turned out!

are you into denim this fall?

here are some exciting pieces that i am loving from shopbop!
(where you can enjoy free 3-day shipping & 24-hour customer service, btw!!)

♥ i got my love to keep me warm.

this fall, the one major thing on my wish list is a shaggy fur coat.
throw one on over any outfit and the "effortlessly chic" vibe is almost immediate.

i am in love with these neutral (and pricey- might i add!) toppers from

..but i could also be happy with this one from urban outfitters

or this ivory beauty from  h & m!

what fall trend are you most looking forward to wearing?

♥ for whatever we lose (like a you or a me), it's always our self we find in the sea.

ireland-based  eco-luxe fashion label, we are islanders,
prove that summer isn't over--not by a long shot.

inspired by shorelines, the magnificent "merging of land and water,"
their tidal print used on many of the pieces is reminiscent of the ocean in a
not so obvious way. LOVE!

ps. most of all, i need this tote bag!

♥ so classic.

have you heard about the collaboration between rifle paper co. & puffin in bloom?
available august 28th, these artfully designed editions by artist anna bond
make me want to buy each of them, only to tear their covers off and
frame them for my walls! ha!

which do you love best?

♥ i've got baggage.

(handbag c/o shopbop)

now that my life is split between work time and baby time,
i have found there is a need for a new kind of bag in my repertoire:
one that holds everything from paperwork to extra diapers.

enter: this beautiful, biscuit-colored rebecca minkoff tote,
that is both lightweight and structured, large enough to carry the necessities
(20 lipsticks are essential, right?), and neutral enough to go with everything.
between work and the weekends, this new piece is fast becoming a wardrobe staple,
and i wouldn't have it any other way ;)

and while we're on the subject, here are a few extras i wouldn't
mind toting around in my new tote bag:

quirky coin pouches from rebecca minkoff

and how about a bib from the born free collection for good measure?

LOVE!

♥ spanx you very much.

\

it was only four short months ago that my baby bump was on and poppin'.
and now, thanks to the beautiful technology that is spanx, you would hardly know
that very recently there had been an 8 pound baby growing in my tummy!!

please excuse my lack of makeup/hair. i am a mama :)

there are certain dresses that just call for the help of spanx.
this colorful dvf wrap is one of my favorites-- but due to it's tight fit,
it's not always the most comfortable to wear.

i was recently sent three different pairs of spanx to try.
here's what i thought:

skinny britches high-waisted short: these look daunting to put on, because they are super
tiny at first and feel like a scuba material. they also come up way high underneath your bra-
which seems like a big commitment for underwear, but once you get over that and actually get
into them, they are so easy to wear, and so flattering underneath everything! LOVE!

skinny britches mid-thigh : these are incredible to wear- so thin and light
and easy to step into! and they fit like a dream, smoothing down every crease
and every curve beneath your dress!  a MUST HAVE for wedding season!

belly banishing shorty shaper (similar): this pair is great for shorter dresses,
but were a bit uncomfortable due to the fact that they rolled down at the belly area,
which sort of defeated their purpose for me!

all in all, i must say i can see why every celeb on the red carpet has a pair of spanx
on beneath their gowns, and why someone like oprah even wears them
under her jeans! thank you spanx, for sucking, in a good way ;)

ps. happy national underwear day!!

♥ i'd rather see the world from a different angle.

sometimes life can get so monotonous- and each day can pass by in such
a flourish of activity that you can let it go without ever really
looking up.

this is why i appreciate photographers like magalerie on etsy,
whose pictures make you want to stop and appreciate something as
simple as a puffy white cloud floating in a pale blue sky, or an old
pink trucked parked at an angle on the sidewalk.

sometimes all it takes is looking at the world through a new lens to
appreciate how beautiful each day really is.
