♥ clothes make the man.

last thursday, my friend and i ventured to the boston ICA to have a look
at the exhibits and to hear live music on the fan pier boardwalk.
for those of you who aren't aware, admission to the newly built ICA
is totally free every Thursday night from 5 to 9. (thanks to target.)

aside from the dr. lakra exhibit, which was amazing to finally see in person,
the other exhibit, workworkworkworkwork by charles ledray, was especially
interesting. without any formal sewing skills or training in the arts,
charles ledray is completely self taught and actuatlly started out as a museum guard.
he is not a fashion designer, yet most of his work is made up of miniature
men's clothing, done perfectly to scale.
his men's suits presentation consists of three vignettes,
one of which looks like the sorting room of a tiny department store,
complete with linoleum tiling, a drop ceiling, and even lint to
make it authentic! to look at this work and to know that it took three years for
ledray to painstakingly piece together each and every item by hand,
will have anyone believing it's a small world after all.

carrie, the suits literally look like they were made for paddington bear. i wanted to take them home and dress my stuffed animals.
