if you didn't catch hedi slimane's second women's collection for
saint laurent, you may not be aware that grunge is back-
in a BIG way.
i am loving the mishmash of girly floral dresses with heavy flannels,
peter pan collars with biker boots, sparkly belts with fishnets,
secretary bows and ratty hair. it's like they stepped
right off the set of my so called life.
i can't think of anything better.
Oh man, what a flashback! I totally loved My so called life! When I look at those pics, I can sort of see early Kate Moss in the tea/floral print frocks!

wasn't my so called life the best? i re-watched alot of it on netflix- it's still amazing!
DeleteYessssss! I love 90's grunge. Remember that iconic Vogue spread with Kirsten McMenamy, Naomi Campbell and Nadia Auermann? I was in 8th grade, maybe? I thought it was THE COOLEST thing I had ever seen. Remember this photo? Yep, that's la Campbell in grunge.
ReplyDeleteYES! love that pic- too good. too grunge!
DeleteI was in Zara today trying to turn a blind eye to all the overalls. They are just a trend that I can't accept as back. I think living though them the first time (with only 1/2 hooked) was traumatic enough. But some grungy babydoll dresses and plaid? Sign me up.
ReplyDeletei am still waiting for overalls to hit forever 21's shelves- i have seen them at urban and love how they look on some bloggers- even though i am sure they'd look like hell on me! loving the grunge dress look for a prego belly!
