♥ rabbit run.

i am just about the worst example of an asian-american girl you can find.
i can't speak a lick of chinese, save for a few sayings like "i love you"and
"happy chinese new year;" i am told i have a terrible accent; cannot
communicate with my grandparents (who live across the street!) ;
and avoid alot of chinese delicacies on the count of the fact
that i am a vegetarian.

what i would love to do is hop on an extremely long flight
to hong kong right now, visit the places my father may remember
from his childhood and maybe take a small detour to hong kong's
APM shopping center to see these fabulous, gigantic
fifi lapin statuettes!

* read my previous post about this gorgeous bunny here.
* read an informative post about chinese new year on a brit greek .

    I hope you're having a Hoppy new year! I am still lucky enough to get family in HK save my envelopes for me for when I go visit next time... and that might not be for another year!

    Have a brilliant time with your family doll and thanks for the shout out!

  3. so I just stumbled upon your blog and had to tell you that we should probably be friends because I'm a Sami too! Actually, I go by Sam now BUT I did do the Sami thing not too long ago AND spelled it the same way :)

  5. Oh and I barely speak Chinese too! My friends call me a banana: yellow on the outside, but white on the inside.

  6. I understand what you mean, sort of. I'm german and feel increasingly bad that the traditions brought to america by my grandmother have died with my brother and I. My mom speaks the language, but it wasn't offered as a language option in High School and we lived too far away from our primarily german-speaking relatives to learn.

    you should go to Hong Kong! it's never too late!
