who would always. without fail. suggest to her clients that any particular item of clothing that they happened to be trying on "would look fabulous with a gold necklace and heels."
it didn't matter if it were a tank top, a dress, a sweater or a hanky panky thong,
she convinced every one that a touch of gold would be the finishing touch to any outfit.
and you know what? she was right!
the metallic look is one that weaves its way into every season without ever getting old.
why, you ask?
...because whether it is in the form of a clutch,
like this lauren merkin snake.skin darling
...a tote, like this resort inspired bag by kate spade.
...a statement necklace, like this showstopper by fiona paxton
or a pair of delicious high heels...
like these christian louboutin pumps found here
or these manolo blahnik beauties found here.
a hint of glint can take an otherwise ordinary outfit from drab to fab in no time!
in the same sort of the way men match their belt + shoes to their various suits,
a gold shoe, gold necklace, clutch bag + any outfit = one glamorous look.
here are some more golden girls from last night's 2009 CFDA Awards
dvf.
vera wang.
although it has been well over a month since the ever. so. iconic kate moss and the ever.so.talented marc jacobs sashayed down the red carpet at the 2009 costume institute gala,
i cannot help but be inspired by kate's gold lamé dress, turban and ysl pumps,
which seems to just ooze liquid glamour.
not all of us have to be as daring as kate moss...but if you are looking to add a little timeless sparkle to your wardrobe,
you should definitely look no further then that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Simply gorgeous darling! Sammi I am SO happy you started this blog! You will be "stylist to the stars" in no time ;)
