it's instances like these which make me regret ever opting to learn spanish over french!
françoise hardy is a pop icon/ singer/actress/model/astrologer
who rose to french fame in the 1960's with the help of boyfriend/photographer jean-marie pierre, who splashed her gorgeous face over every trendy magazine.
at once a shy, young singer, the fashion world made her more sophisticated and worldly and
her pictures certainly reflect that. throughout her life, she has appeared in a number of films, written numerous books, can sing in french, english, spanish + german, and
was the influence behind nicolas ghuesquiére's 2005 runway collection for balenciaga.
she is pure"how.you.say....glamour?"
from her sultry voice to her iconic style, which is all.at.once simple and charming.
so timeless in fact, that the first time i listened to this album and looked at the pictures that accompany the liner notes, i could have sworn that she came right out of the same era
as indie songstress, leslie feist.
in my next life, i would like to come back french.
