♥ fashion can be bought. style one must possess.

minor complaint that i have about fashion is that i do not have
piles and piles of money lying around to adorn myself accordingly.
i have learned over the years to make do with what i have plenty of,
which is, an innate sense of style.

and so has actress/designer/fashion–extraordinaire, chloë sevigny.
in her latest spread in elle magazine, chloë claims,
"it is not what you spend, but how you wear it that counts.
the key is to dress up inexpensive basics with accessories.
something like a beautiful designer bag or belt can makes everything
look richer and more luxurious."

girl, i couldn't agree more.

and if you aren't already impressed with ms. sevigny's
stellar ability to dress herself in a fabulous mix of vintage + modern clothing,
check out the way she was able to bring the same feel into her east village apartment,
featured in january 2007's house and garden.
photos found here.

isn't her entryway dreamy?
her wallcovering is imperial trellis from the
kelly wearstler designer collection for schumacher,
which, my friends, is even more gorgeous in person.

1 ♥ love notes.:
