♥ black & white.

not gonna lie: i recently decided to read truman capote's famous work,
in cold blood, after hearing that his famous black and white ball, thrown in celebration
of the book's popularity was the inspiration behind moschino's resort 2012 collection.

i just love it when fashion and literature collide- and in the case of truman capote,
(who also penned breakfast at tiffany's) this collision is a beautiful one.

capote's black and white ball brought together a very select five hundred & forty
artists, politicians, hollywood starlets & socialites, who were all clamoring for a spot
on the who's who invitation list. the men were asked to wear black tie/black masks
and the women could wear white/black dress and white masks.

the masks strategically leveled the playing field for capote, but also added quite
a bit of glamour and eccentricity to the famous dinner party.

  1. Love this! I haven't read In Cold Blood, but it's on my (very long) to-read list. I want to go to a really fancy black and white ball!
