by now, i am sure we are all well-acquainted with the pop-up boutique trend,
where specialized niche retailers set up temporary shop in undisclosed locations for a limited
amount of time, with a limited run of merchandise, and are there one day and gone the next.
but how about a pop-up restaurant?
similarly, these restaurants appear temporarily in unique locations such as private homes,
factories, warehouses or salons, are tracked mostly through various forms of social media,
and (unlike most food establishments,) allow chefs to connect with dinner guests in a
much more interactive way.
this week, a lucky reader will have the delicious opportunity to win a pair of tickets
to what sounds like a pretty amazing pop-up dinner party.
while the location in boston will not be announced until the evening
before the dinner, here are the details i do have for you:
what: barrio pop-up dinner party (an ode to afro-cuban street food with a vegan/french twist!)
who's cooking: chefs wheeler del torro & matt drummond of brasserie jo
when: saturday, april 28th. 9pm.
where: in boston, somewhere. it's a secret.
