i saw this on bearbear and it reminded me of the
quote i posted earlier this week,
so i had to recycle it.

♥ in full bloom.

i love the simplicity of these black & white animal drawings
blossoming with a wild profusion of bountiful blooms.
artist katie vernon  has an impressive knack for
making the ordinary- extraordinary.

ps. check out her etsy shop.

♥ the love you leave behind.

artist agustina woodgate visits local thrift stores
and rather than taking something away-
she brings a needle and thread and
secretly leaves a little
poetry behind.

source.

i can never read all the books i want;
i can never be all the people i want and live all the lives i want.
i can never train myself in all the skills i want.

 and why do i want?
i want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of
mental and physical experience possible in life.
and i am horribly limited.

♥ a room of one's own.

"this is a project about people.
it is a project about our space and the things we don't throw away.
it is a project about looking for and finding connections we all have.
it is about seeing yourself in these spaces.
every picture is a portrait of the owner- be it a room, an object or a view.
every portrait becomes a self portrait.
so in the end this is a project about me."
michael mundy, photographer behind an afternoon with..

there is so much that one can learn about a person after spending some time
with them in their sacred space- their natural habitat- their home--
which is precisely why i am loving this blog.

♥ map out your future- but do it in pencil.

could not resist sharing another effing amazing map
illustrated by my personal map maker, aaron.

i really  think he should give up his life as an architecture student
and just make maps for the rest of his talented little life.

♥ don't be a drag, just be a queen.

this weekend, in celebration of the new york's legalization of same-sex marriage,
i watched one of my favorite gender-bending/ sexuality & soul-searching films,

narrated by a charismatic, overly-dramatic cross-dressing songstress, hedwig,
this film contemplates love in all of it's unique shapes, sizes and colors-
concluding that one should look no further than one's own self
to feel complete and whole and happy.

i am not sure what i love more about this movie-
it's message or hedwig's costumes.
either way, it's a must-see.

ps. here's my favorite song from the film:

♥ if i were a boy.

to be honest, my interest level in men's fashion is usually at about a 2.5,
but this colorful spring 2012 collection from prada makes my
boy-clothes hatin' heart skip a beat.

plus, i am also totally smitten with the illustrated version
of the new prada print, spotted on janelle burger's blog.

♥ flowers whisper "beauty" to the world, even as they fade, wilt, fall.

it may be a bit overdue, but i just love the way carolina herrera
included inspiration from 18th century botanical paintings into her
spring 2011 collection. the trompe l'oeil effect of taped-on
flowers & tags is nothing short of genius.

botanical prints are also a lovely element employed by
interior designers to add a flourish of floral interest to any room.

♥ love is in the air.

last summer, i went to my best friend's wedding.
and last weekend, i went to her little sister's.

the reception was like something out of a jane austen novel
or a jean honore fragonard painting, which means it was
simply stunning: a love-filled, endlessly joyous occasion
that i was so glad to be a part of.
