we were recently given a very unique wedding gift from my friend, karin.
in her card, she cleverly wrote, "i can't give you the world- so this will have to do."
as you can probably guess-- it was an atlas!
for someone like me who is geographically challenged and who understands
directions based on landmarks rather than road names- an atlas is a perfect gift.
it is also perfect inspiration for today's map-centered post.

i think someday when i have a house, i will map out one of my walls
so there are absolutely no excuses for not knowing exactly where i am.
When I was a kid, I had a small study (basically a repurposed closet) off my bedroom. I covered the entire thing with maps from the National Geographic magazines and would sit in there for hours, dreaming of all the place I would go, once I was "grown up"...

ReplyDeletepretty awesome bathroom!
ReplyDeleteI love maps, globes, etc. but I, too, am geographically challenged. My love is purely an aesthetic one. I'd love to have map decorations in my home some day too.

That bathroom is killer! I also rely on visual clue and landmarks as opposed to road names when getting around. I'm working on being more map-oriented now that I've moved to Massachusetts, but my mind seems pretty set on "and then you make a right after the train tracks." :)
