(james from bleubird vintage, maternity series.)
this past weekend one of our very best friends announced that he and his wife are expecting a baby! it's sort of amazing to me that i have finally reached the age where people i grew up with and knew since childhood are now starting to have children of their own.
while there is still a bit more time before nick and i go down the baby path, i am intrigued by the multitude of bloggers who have been chronicling their baby expertiences on a weekly basis. from a cup of jo, to jen loves kev and bleubird vintage, these bloggers are boldly sharing everything from sonograms to baby bumps and all of the details in between.
years and years ago before there was such thing as digital photography, nick's mother and father took a month by month polaroid photo of his mother's growing belly. not only did the size of her stomach change drastically with each new shot, but also the arrangement of bedroom where the pictures were taken. a chest of drawers topped with an assortment of flowers was slowly replaced by a crib filled with stuffed animals and completed with a mobile and clown lamp. i remember thinking how clever his parents were when i first saw these photos, and i feel the same way now when i see bloggers take this idea to the next level, and turn it into a whole series.
one of my favorites is the belly picture series from ryan marshall and
his wife, cole, from his blog, pacing the panic room.
i just love cole's american apparel outfits coupled with her edgy hairstyles, ryan's amazing photography, and most of all the adorable letters written from father to unborn baby tessa. so freaking cute.
now don't you have babies on the brain just a little?
It was good to see Cole again :) She's gorgeous.
